Happy Women’s Day to all our women readers and a big thank you to the men who support the empowerment of women. Join us in celebrating womanhood.
The world is growing at an amazing pace; we are in the 21st century where we’d like to think that gender bias doesn’t exist. But sadly it does. And it exists everywhere, even at the workplace. For instance, a woman earns just 79 cents for every dollar a man earns. Although the pay gap based on gender has narrowed over the years, according to the Women’s Policy Research the pay gap will not be closed until 2059.
But hey! The situation is not so grim for everyone. We at CommLab India believe in equality at the workplace. We have women in key leadership roles and follow an equal pay policy. On this women’s day, we’d like to pay tribute to all the women who are fighting their own battles to remove prejudices. And we’d like to thank the men who stand by such women. Thank you for rising above the stereotypes in the corporate world and making women realize that their opinion counts.
True, it’s a man’s world, but it ain’t nothing without a woman. Happy International Women’s Day!
You are more than beautiful
I want to apologize to all the women
I have called pretty
before I’ve called them intelligent or brave.
I am sorry I made it sound as though
something as simple as what you’re born with
is all you have to be proud of
when you have broken mountains with your wit.
From now on I will say things like
you are resilient, or you are extraordinary
not because I don’t think you’re beautiful
but because I need you to know
You are more than that.
