Easy Steps to Create Drag and Drop Interactivity in Adobe Captivate 7

The drag and drop interactivity is a great way to engage learners and enables developers to create highly interesting eLearning courses. It is primarily used in assessments. In this activity, learners need to drag the targets and drop them in the right place.

Adobe Captivate 7 is one of the widely used authoring tools in which developers can create Drag and Drop exercises. Drag and Drop interactivities can be created, using this tool, through Widgets or through the Drag and Drop Interaction Wizard.

Let us now see how to create the Drag and Drop interactivity by using the Drag and Drop interaction Wizard. These are the 5 steps involved in creating this interaction.

  1. Create your interactivity slide
  2. Launch the Drag and Drop interaction Wizard
  3. Select the Drag options
  4. Select the Drop targets
  5. Match the Drag options to the Drop targets

Create your interactivity slide

Open your captivate file and design the slide with the drag and drop targets. Make sure that the design is simple with an appealing look and feel. A sample design with Drag and Drop targets is shown below.

Helpful info, thanks. I’m creating a quiz that consists of multiple captivate questions types, eg multiple choice and matching. I also want to add a drag and drop slide. Can this be included as part of the quiz, so it’s scored and students see it in the results? If so, how?
