How to Create Horizontal Scroll Bar Using Articulate Storyline?

Is it is possible to create horizontal scrollbar using Articulate Storyline? Yes! It is possible using default features of Articulate Storyline. This concept is useful when width of the textboxes or images is high and does not fit in the slide.

In one of our client projects we have a requirement to create horizontal scrollbar. In Storyline there is no such type of feature but we have vertical scrollbar feature in storyline. We convert that vertical scrollbar into horizontal scrollbar using the following steps.

Here are the steps involved.

Step 1: First insert a rectangle in the slide.

Step 1

If we don’t want to this rectangle to be visible in the slide then give transparency to this rectangle.

Step 2: Go to Insert tab and insert Scroll bar. By default the scrollbar is vertical in storyline.

Step 2

Step 3: Insert a textbox or image which we want to scroll horizontally. And rotate the object to left 900.

Step 3

Step 4: Align the image to scrolling panel to scroll it.

Step 4

Step 5: Group the objects rectangle and scroll pane. And rotate the group in Right 900.

Step 5

Then the view of the slide is as below screen shot.

Step 5

Publish or preview the course and see the output.

Step 5

This is the way we can create horizontal scroll bar using Articulate Storyline. Hope this blog was helpful. Please share your thoughts and views.
