Compliance program is viewed as a program conducted for the organization’s benefit. It is something that needs to flexible and proactive enough, rather being a reactive one.

Conducting enterprise wide compliance program helps to identify and assess the different internal and external compliance risks. An enterprise wide compliance program helps to give an overall view of the compliance issues and it becomes easy to understand how risks in one part of the business line, might affect other parts of the business, or the organization as a whole.

Compliance training is delivered with the intention to prevent an organization from violation of the usual standards. Therefore, to mitigate the risk factor, it is essential to assess as to where an organization could go wrong? What rules it violates? To which risk factor is the organization more susceptible to?

Developing a concrete compliance framework reduces the chance of organizations being slapped with a fine or penalties. This safeguards the organization’s reputation in the eyes of its stakeholders. Thus, the question that obviously arises here – How do organizations prevent themselves from defaulting on compliance issues? What are the steps that need to follow to evade compliance issues?


To start with a compliance training program, you need to assess the problem areas. There are various compliance issues such as safety concern, health concern, and monetary concern and so on and so forth. Now, you need to analyze in which areas is your organization more vulnerable and this will help you in compliance management. Once that is determined, it becomes easy for you to formulate the compliance training program.


The formulation or the designing part of the program starts with identifying the training objectives, the content and the target audience. To develop the content you can follow the specifications given by some regulatory bodies. Training objectives are decided by the management team and based on the compliance issue, the target audience is fixed.


The delivery method can be established in one or more of the following ways. There can be instructor led training delivery, where the training coordinator guides the respective employees on compliance issues. On the other hand could also be blended learning, where the employees have the ease to learn, as per their convenience. With blended learning most importantly, organizations are saved from the time and cost factor involved in bringing all employees together for training.


The last step ends with verifying and assessing the extent to which employees are following the safety guidelines or process guidelines, as mentioned in the training program. The learner groups duly following the rules should be certified and recognized in public. While for learners who are still not comfortable with this, can be extended to the next session of training program.

In conclusion, it would be stated that to safeguard the organization from the verge of facing different compliance related issues, compliance training program is essential across different levels. Compliance training program is not a onetime issue, rather it needs to keep pace with the changing regulatory norms.
