Effective product sales training plays a key role in the success of the sales force. Well-trained sales personnel can better explain the benefits of their products to potential customers. But, how can organizations impart effective online product training to employees so that they have complete knowledge on the product? Well, one of the most effective methods to deliver product sales training to your sales staff is through the use of videos.
In this post, I would like to share a few ways of how to use videos in online product sales training.
1. Product demo videos
If the product is complex or huge, and cannot be physically transported easily, it is a good idea to develop videos that demonstrate how the product works. This ensures that more number of sales staff can be educated and trained on a particular product, as there is no restriction on the number of people that can be accommodated on the shop floor or in a training room. These videos can be embedded into e-learning courses to enhance their efficacy, or can be used as stand-alone learning objects. This will enhance your sales team’s product knowledge and selling skills effectively.
2. Product operation videos
Using videos is an effective method of demonstrating a series of steps or events in a process for the sales force. It helps employees retain the steps of the process for a longer time. It also helps them understand why and how a process needs to be followed.
3. Augmented reality videos
Augmented reality is a technique where virtual elements are superimposed upon the real world in real time. It is being researched for its potential in the learning domain. It displays a live direct or indirect view of an image of the physical, real-world environment which is augmented with additional sensory inputs making it more useful to the user. These can be used in product sales training to enhance product knowledge or highlight specific product features that help sell better.
