On the first page of my 2010 dairy, I wrote to myself, “I will have a Happy, Balanced, Peaceful, Adventurous, Prosperous, Creative, Powerful, Spiritual and Emotionally fit New Year!” 
When I read it, it changes my state immediately and I become hopeful and positive.
Words, words, words…. They play such a crucial role in shaping our lives and what we become as people, both professionally and personally. I believe that all successful people use powerful language patterns to motivate them to achieve their dreams on a continual basis.

In the corporate world, a manager plays a major role in building a team and getting results. Successful managers create a good vocabulary to motivate themselves and others. This vocabulary acts as an incantation and takes us forward.
My personal vocabulary is “Action creates energy and energy is everything”. I would love to hear and learn from your leadership vocab.

While moving up in the value chain, being a resource to a leader, we react to the learnings in enabling the application to create an impact.
For a leader, who has moved from the quadrants of learning to impact; there is no luxury of trail & error.
A leader, in the short-term, lends meaning to the team’s efforts and in the long – term helps them define their own purpose.
The words you use depend more on the listener and less on the speaker
Escalating subordinates – this is a real leadership approach and successful manager behaviour.
A leader is one who; knows the way, goes the way and shows the way
Part of my leadership vocabulary includes a saying that I often share with others, “Life gets better as I get better.” This drives me to constantly look for ways to improve.
If you want the environment around you to change, look inside yourself and seek to make those necessary changes.
Live and train in such a way that your sense of honor will become greater than your moods.
You can do, have and be exactly what you want providing you are prepared to get off your behind and take action.
Jim Rohn said: Whoever renders service to many puts himself in line for greatness – great wealth, great return, great satisfaction, great reputation, and great joy. I think it was his paraphrase of “Give and it shall be given you, pressed down, shaken together and running over”.
I have drawn a line in the sand. It is a circle around me.

If we change the way we look at people, understanding that each individual is worthy of being heard, perceptions shift, innovation is promoted, and things change.
