Interesting read!
I'm currently studying on an elearning course and collaborative learning is one of the topics we are looking at. I think there is a place for it's use wihin organisations as long as they have direction and focus to the collaboration.

Though collaborative learning is on the fast move, can happen any time, from anywhere, I am not sure if it is a systematic learning like e-Learning or not? There is no track of what and how much a person learned and how much knowledge he/she gained? I think social learning can be utilized more of getting information and clarifications very quickly and timely. But for a serious/systematic learning that organizations want to provide to their employees where everything from cost, time and benefits should be measurable, companies may prefer other than collaborative training methods. But from a personal point of view collaborative learning is very useful and beneficial.

Thank You.
