tips for making elearning development

Do you care about faster, easier and effective e-learning? Do you care about training your sales staff frequently on new products? Do you care about quickly informing your employees of any policy changes in your organization? Then you should start caring about rapid eLearning.

Rapid eLearning can be employed to develop interactive courses at low cost and in a short time frame. In order to roll out courses rapidly and effectively without any pitfalls, I have come up with some tips which you can consider:

1) Clarify The Purpose of The Project

You should know who the audience are and why the eLearning project is ordered. You should have a clear idea of the project requirements and should consider factors like future localization requirements, mobile conversion and LMS platform.

Check whether you have course material ready with you, or whether you are going to work with an SME to develop the course content from scratch.

2) Creation of Courses From Existing Materials

Most organizations are sitting on a mountain of content , which could be in the form of existing ppts handouts, manuals, videos etc. Instead of developing your content from scratch , all you have to do is convert your existing ILT material into eLearning.

3) Use Rapid Authoring Tools

Rapid eLearning refers to the development of eLearning courses quickly. ELearning can be developed faster and at less expense with Rapid Authoring tools. These tools are easy to use and do not require any command over the programming knowledge. Rapid Authoring tools allow you to reuse your resources effectively. These tools also have multiple publishing options, where you can publish your courses to PCs, mobiles and Tablets.

4) Tools That Leverage PowerPoint

There are PowerPoint plugin Authoring tools, which quickly and easily convert PowerPoint presentations including text, graphics and other activities into eLearning course. These tools let you quickly use your existing PowerPoint content. Some of the tools you can consider are Articulate and iSpring.

5) Effective Project Management

Effective project management is essential to rapidly create and deploy eLearning projects globally. As you know the eLearning projects are complex and involve working with a lot of details and dealing with a lot of people. Effective project management not only helps in meeting the project deadlines but also in saving costs.

I hope the above tips are handy in developing eLearning courses faster, easier and more effective. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to drop an email or make a comment.
