How to Import Media Elements into Lectora?

Lectora Inspire is a user friendly Authoring tool & software with inbuilt features. It is a flexible tool to develop eLearning courses. This tool allows you to import various media elements into the eLearning course. Let’s see what they are, and how you can import them.

Working with audio:

It is easy to import audio in to Lectora. The program supports the following audio formats (.mp3, .m4a, .flv, .wav, .mid, MPEG, .mp3, .m4a, .asf, .rm, .au, .wma). Click ‘Insert’ menu to import the audio into a page. Click the drop-down list to select the audio file from the Media Library, add streaming audio, or record new audio.

This menu item corresponds to the keyboard shortcut Alt+0.

1. Open the course in lectora.

2. Go to the ‘Insert’, menu click the Audio icon.

Working with video:

Create new video or add existing video for your course. The program supports the following video formats (.mov, .asf, .avi, {.flv & .f4v}, .mpg, .mpeg, MPEG-4, mpg4, .M4V, .MP4, .rm, .rmm, .wmv). Click on the ‘Insert’ menu to import the video into a page. Click the drop-down list to select the video from Media Library, add streaming video, or record new video.

This menu item corresponds to keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+1.

Working with Flash animation objects:

Flash animation objects are animated movie clips containing captivating motion effects by varying the size, color, and rotation of content. Flash animations can be added to titles, audio, and videos. Flypaper for Lectora enables non-technical users to produce, publish, deliver, and track rich, interactive Adobe® Flash-quality communications. To import Flash objects into the current page, click the ‘Insert’ menu . Click the drop-down list to select a Flash animation from Media Library, or create a new Flash animation.

1. Go to ‘Insert’ menu, click the Flash icon.

This is how we import audio, video and flash files in the Lectora authoring tool. Many other objects such as gif, rectangles, characters, charts, equations, buttons, can be imported to Lectora . I will explain the the steps to import these objects in my next blog.
