In my previous blog, we have understood the importance of customizing LMS to meet organizations’ specific training workflow standards and users’ needs. We will now have a look at some more features that can be customized in Moodle LMS
1. Classroom Trainings Management
Learners can view, sign up and register for trainings or webinars even from the LMS.
The whole process of classroom training registrations can be integrated into the LMS.
Also, the training calendar can be exported and integrated into MS Outlook to keep the learners informed of upcoming or scheduled events.
2. Collaborative Learning
Features like Discussions, Blogs and Chats can be easily collaborated into eLearning courses. Users can read, reply and add their own discussion topics and subscribe to forums. Blogs can be written and published online by the users. They can also read and comment on other blogs.
It is possible to have the repository of all the resources in the LMS. Users can search and download the resources to their computer, laptop or mobile devices. They can add the selected resources to their “My Resources” section for future reference and also share it with the other LMS users.
We can have the categories of resources based on the type of content.
There is an assessment section in the LMS from where users can attempt and review attempted questions before submitting. Using the quiz navigation buttons, users can skip or jump to any particular question.
Assessment will be treated as passed/failed based on the passing score, which can be preset and it allows the learners to view the summary of responses with correct answers after the completion of assessments.
5. Print Certificates
After the successful completion of courses or trainings, users can be rewarded with the predesigned certificates based on the set passing mark criteria. The certificates will be stored in the LMS and can be viewed any time and printed for reference.
Every organization has its own corporate standards and training requirements and it expects its LMS to cater to all those needs. So even though we have many quality LMSs out there in the market, they may or may not suit your needs. And trying to force fit the default LMS features may not be effective or give you the results that you want.
I hope you find the blog useful. Do share your thoughts on the features listed.
