Articulate Storyline is a rapid and an effective tool for developing online courses. It has many features that help in developing courses based on client requirements. One of the main and essential features in Storyline is simulation. It helps in creating our own videos using many different tools.
In this blog, I am going to explain how to create and edit simulations with the help of a PPT in Articulate Storyline.
Here are some of the steps to create and edit simulations using PPT.
Step 1: First create PPT slides based on client requirements with some text, animation, audio and links for an effective look.
Step 2: Open the Articulate Studio File and then select the Insert option from the menu bar and then select Record Screen.
Step 3: In the Record Screen, you will find a Record your Screen option. Click on it. It will open one recording window. Then we have to adjust that window to our PPT size for recording the slides as a simulation video.
Step 4: Adjust the Recording window size with respect to the PPT window size and record the simulation by clicking on Red button. After completion of recording, press the Esc button on the keyboard for saving the recorded file as a Storyline file.
Step 5: You will find a window to insert the recorded simulation where you will find two options such as
- Video on a single slide
- Step-by-Step slides
Select the first option “Video on a single slide” and click the Insert Button.
Now the recorded simulation will be inserted in the form of a video on to the slide.
Before inserting, we can also review the recorded simulation by pressing the play button.
Step 6: Now the simulation is inserted into a separate slide as a video.
We can also edit by clicking on the video. Then you will find the different options on the menu bar for editing the video. Then select “edit video”. It will open one small window for editing the video with many options like:
- Export the video and many more.
Note: Recorded video can be exported by clicking the mouse right button on video in the mp4 format.
After editing, click on the save and close button for saving the video.
In this way, we can create our own simulation video in our Storyline course using the PPT for an effective look in our courses.
I hope these steps will help you in your course for better creation of simulation.
Please try this and give your feedback.
