In my previous blog, we have seen how to insert a zoom region in eLearning courses developed in Articulate Storyline. In this blog, we will see how to change the zoom level while working on a particular slide.
When you are working on a slide at a zoom percentage greater than 100%, the selected text in the zoom region might be rendered differently than the actual text. This is because the text spacing and wrapping will be altered. But on publishing the course, the text may look normal.
Compare the screenshots of text when the zoom percentage is more than 100% and the published output.
To avoid such text formatting issues, you have to set back the slide or screen zoom level to 100%, and then adjust the content.
Want to know how to change the zoom level? Well, here are 4 easy ways you can do this in Articulate Storyline.
1. Using the Ctrl button + Mousewheel
Well, this is probably one of the fastest and easiest ways to zoom in and out. All you have to do is hold the Ctrl button on the keyboard and scroll your mousewheel. Scrolling forward will zoom in and scrolling backward will zoom out the screen.
2. Using the Zoom Slider
To use this option, you have to drag the slider either to right or left. This zoom slider is located in the lower-right corner of your Storyline screen. Dragging the slide to the right will zoom in and dragging it to the left will zoom out the screen.
3. Using the Zoom Percentage
Right next to the zoom slider, on the left, you will see the zoom percentage.
As shown in the above screenshot, you have to click the percentage which brings up the Zoom window. Once the Zoom window opens, you can select the required percentage. Here, I have selected 100%.
You can also access this option by clicking the View tab on the Storyline ribbon and clicking the Zoom button as shown below.
4. Using the Fit to Window option
Just to the right of the zoom slider, you can see a rectangle with arrows.
And yes, using this button, you can fit the screen to the window regardless of whatever the current zoom percentage. Just one click will fit all the content in the viewable area of your Storyline screen.
The other way of doing this is to go to the View tab on the Storyline ribbon and click the Fit to Window option.
Well, these are 4 easy ways by which you can change the zoom level in Articulate Storyline.
