Nowadays, many organizations are showing interest to train their employees through e-learning courses and make it a part of their corporate training strategy. This is because the learner can access the course through online methods using any electronic device like PCs, laptops, tablets, and mobiles from anywhere in the country, and the costs invested to develop e-learning courses are less when compared to the costs involved in conducting classroom training.
In every organization, employees work in different capacities such as Consultant, Sales Representative, Manager, Service Technician and many more. So based on their job profiles, employees need to get trained only in their respective fields. However, purchasing the courses based on their job profiles is going to involve huge costs. In each category, some of the employees like Consultants, Sales Representatives, Managers will get involved even in others’ work. Each course will therefore have to contain repeated modules, which will lead to high costs of development and maintenance for the organization to train their employees through online courses.
To overcome this issue of developing multiple courses, we can develop a single course, which contains the information of all category employees’ courses. This also acts as a single course with multiple courses.
1. Using an Avatar as the main trainer
For an effective introduction, place one character image on the first slide of the course. This acts as the main superior or trainer who gives common introduction to the course, as shown below.
2. Categorizing the slides of course based on their roles
And in the next slide, categorize the employees selection as interactivity (i.e., click on tabs) where based on the category, the employee will click on the appropriate tab to continue with his or her respective course slides. Once he or she completes his course slides, a certificate based on the chosen category will be issued. For easy understanding, place the respective image for each tab, based on the category and its title.
We can also include a final quiz to each category track their efficiency.
So based on their category or roles, employees can undergo training in their respective courses from within a single course.
A Category1 employee can also view the slides of other categories, but it is totally dependent on the functionality, that is, the manager may have all the rights to see the slides of service technicians but the vice versa is not possible, that is, a technician will not have the rights to watch manager slides. Similarly, we can add more restrictions to each category to enhance the efficiency of our course.
